Alta Ski AreaAlta Ski Area is located approximately 29 miles from Salt Lake City, Utah and provides snowshoeing, cross country and Nordic skiing in addition to classic, skate and telemark skiing. They have over 116 ski runs with an average snowfall of 540 inches creating deep powder and a vertical drop of 2,030 feet. There are groomed runs at every lift, a variety of terrain with beginner and intermediate areas. They offer full child-care programs, in addition to a ski school and ski camps. Alta has many on-mountain dining options and ski-in, ski-out lodging is available with wonderful scenic views. The Resort has a comprehensive ecological program that includes a Commute Program for sharing transportation to Alta.
