Taos Valley Ski ResortTaos Ski Valley is located in New Mexico, 18 miles from the town of Taos. They offered only skiing until 2008 when snowboarders were made welcome. Primarily a resort for expert and extremely advanced intermediates, Taos also has a family orientation with special terrain for children and beginners. There are 110 trails, the highest peak reaches 12,491 feet and with light, dry powder that skiers love. There are no parks or pipes; however there are great chutes and extremely challenging off-piste runs. The Kids Center offers activities for families and teens, a beginner slope and children's programs with specially trained instructors. Taos also touts an award winning ski school rated the highest in North America; is well-known for their Ski Week Programs.
