Squaw Valley Ski ResortSquaw Valley Ski Resort is located in Olympic Valley, California not far from Lake Tahoe. Touted as one of the largest ski areas in the United States, Squaw Valley was chosen as the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics and hosted the winter World Cup tour in 1969. This alpine setting in the Sierra Nevada Mountains attracts numerous skiers, however the Resort also offers a variety of winter sports, including ice skating at the Olympic Ice Pavilion located atop a mountain offering spectacular views of Lake Tahoe, the Sierra Nevada and Squaw Valley. There is cross-country skiing, snowshoeing trails, snowtubing, snowboarding and dog sledding tours; and a headwall climbing wall for the adventurous, as well as a snowsports school.
